Editing audio with Audacity

This workshop will provide an introduction to Audacity, the free sound editing software. Audacity can be used for many digital projects including podcasts, oral histories, and voice overs or narration. Participants will learn how to record and edit audio using Audacity. This tutorial is intended for beginners.

This workshop is part of the Digital Toolkit series co-presented by the UBC Library Research Commons at UBC-V and UBC-O Library.

By the end of this tutorial you should be able to…

• Record audio into Audacity;
• Import sound into Audacity;
• Edit audio using Audacity.

What is this workshop not about?

This workshop will provide an introduction to Audacity for beginners. It will not provide an in-depth overview of all the Audacity tools nor provide an overview of any other audio editing software.
