Introduction to Blockchain Research Skills

This workshop is intended to provide a broad and general introduction to blockchain and other emerging decentralized technologies, followed by a number of exemplar research use cases from its many disciplinary pillars.

Objectives

Establish a basic understanding of the blockchain data structure and affiliated concepts
Navigate to view and discuss basic information from the two primary public blockchains, Bitcoin and Ethereum
Understand what fields and disciplines are interrelated with the emerging multidisciplinary domain “cryptoeconomics”
Explore real research, and research prompt questions, which contextualize this abstract topic in real-world terms
